Yevgen Nemchenko and Benjamin Cunningham represent Conflicted Art at the Borderlands Charity Golf Tournament, supporting Ukrainian military veterans.

Yevgen came to the United States from Ukraine 20 years ago and has been collecting art and antiques for over 10 years. He used his network in the Ukrainian art world to purchase a number of works to help artists personally and give them and their work more global exposure. Benjamin Cunningham, who joined Conflicted Art as general manager last year, is a student at George Washington University studying political science and fine arts.

Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Yevgen has taken steps to support Ukrainian artists with Conflicted Art, hosting local exhibitions as a means of cultural exchange. He launched three exhibits to date, one of which took place in the oldest private art gallery in Washington, DC. Yevgen intends to continue this endeavor to help artists in this time of need and give their work global exposure. An upcoming exhibition in May at George Mason University will present artworks and artifacts from the invasion for students, professionals, and academics in the DMV area. Alongside Conflicted Art, we have developed an exhibition opening on Ukrainian Independence Day at George Washington University. We Know Who They Are... presents the artworks and narratives of nearly 30 Ukrainian artists responding to the war crimes committed by the Russian army while providing active community engagement through panel talks, art therapy workshops, and sociological research.

A critical goal of ours is to raise funds for Ukrainian veterans and continue advancing international support for the nation amid the ongoing invasion. As ambassadors of the Borderland Charity Golf Tournament, we will be donating pieces from our private collection of Ukrainian artwork for the charity auction, as well as aiming to raise $2,000 to support Borderlands’ mission of providing veterans of the War in Ukraine with comprehensive means of rehabilitation. We are beyond excited to participate in this event and invite you to join us in enabling this mission. Please understand that any donation is much appreciated and will allow us to fulfill our humanitarian endeavors.
