Meet Serhii Rotchuk

Serhii Rotchuk

Serhii "Jedi" Rotchuk, Chief Sergeant of the Medical Company of the 12th Special forces Brigade Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Serhii was born on April 25th, 1989.

He joined Azov in 2015. He held the position of combat medic in an infantry company and was the commander of the battalion's medical evacuation platoon. He was also constantly engaged in instructional work, teaching Azov soldiers and combat medics tactical medicine.

He took part in the battles for Mariinka, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka and the Svitlodarsk bulge.

In 2022, he defended Mariupol and Azovstal, and was in Russian captivity for over a year, from May 20th 2022 until May 6th 2023.

Upon his return from captivity, he was reinstated into the ranks. He works at the brigade's stabilization point, and prepares a training program for the unit's personnel.
