🇺🇦 Support Ukrainian Veteran: Ivan Khymych 🇺🇦

🦅 Meet Ivan Khymych

Yevhenii Malyk

My name is Ivan, and I studied at the National Academy of Ground Forces in Lviv, graduating in 2017. Since then, I have been serving in the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade, named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.

I have participated in combat operations in the Volnovakha and Kurakhove sectors. At the beginning of 2022, I was responsible for setting up mine-explosive and non-explosive barriers in Odesa. Our unit defended the Mykolaiv sector and later took part in offensive operations in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.

Since 2023, I have been deployed to the Kostiantynivka and Toretsk sectors.

Throughout my service, I have held multiple positions:

• Commander of an Engineer-Sapper Platoon in a Mechanized Battalion

• Engineer

• Chief of the Brigade’s Engineering Service

My responsibilities included:

• Constructing mine-explosive and non-explosive barriers

• Fortification works • Creating passages through enemy defenses

• Combat demining and disposal of explosive ordnanceI have survived multiple missile strikes, cluster munitions, Grad rocket attacks, artillery barrages, airstrikes, and FPV drone attacks—fortunately, without injuries.

Additionally, I served for six months as the commander of a demining group in the NATO peacekeeping mission (KFOR) in Kosovo.
