Meet Kostyantyn Vlaev

Illia Samoilenko

Kostyantyn Vlaev. Born in the city of Odesa (that's why I am Odesa)

I studied to be a customs officer, but somehow the civil service did not come naturally to me, and at the first opportunity I dove into the revolution called Maidan.

At first, the guys from Dnipro and I rode like tourers on Instytutsk, and then already in Dnipro, we captured and held the ODA as a cell of the right sector. Then it all spilled over into military operations in the spring and summer of 2014. I drove to roadblocks, volunteered, took part in transporting BC boys to Savur graves, and was in the military.

I fired from a mortar, somewhere I fired from a machine gun, received a fragment in the back and went to be treated at his own expense. At some point, I left the political and military topic.

Traveled around Europe, engaged in black and non-ferrous metal, lived in Thailand for a while.

The beginning of the war, he was stationed abroad, I returned as I was able to cross the border in March 2022.

At that time, the only place I could get to was DFTG in Kyiv. I didn't settle in there because I wanted something bigger and I wanted to be among ideological nationalists. I was lucky to see recruitment at the Azov SSO in June. Then I thought, never mind, I'm recruiting in the SSO, I can fly. The period of training and high-spirited days among like-minded people has begun. After passing the CMB, I got into the 1st assault company of the 1st assault battalion, which became my second family. I was very lucky with the team and commanders. With them, we went on a tour of the Kherson region, and then a cheerleader named Bakhmut studied. I was a machine gunner, so I had a lot of fun work. During the first operation, I fired about one and a half thousand cartridges while holding the position under the water pump.

But, unfortunately, the music didn't play for long, and during the second operation on Kurdyumivka, I received my mine when I was dragging a contused comrade. Debris, turnstiles, evacuation and endless operations for 4 months.

I'm collecting drones for the boys now and will be back at the first opportunity.
