📍 Hometown: Poltava, Ukraine
🎖 Service: Commander of the 3rd squad, 1st platoon, 2nd company, 1st separate battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade
💥 Wounded: In April 2022, after a month and a half of devastated fighting being completely surrounded in the city of Mariupol, he was captured by Russian forces and endured 2.5 years of brutal captivity and torture.
⚓ Why the Marines? "I wanted to be part of international missions and protect my country’s national interests. Every day of service was meaningful."
🏥 Rehabilitation: Struggled with PTSD and nightmares but found help through medical and psychological support. The Adonis Private Clinic in Kyiv provided effective treatment.
🧠 Biggest Challenge: "Sleeping. The nightmares of captivity never left me."
🏌️♂️ A New Challenge: "I always admired golf. It’s a sport of precision and strategy—perfect for a Marine!"
💪 Part of Recovery: "Sports are essential for rehabilitation. They improve physical and mental health, helping veterans regain control of their lives."
🇺🇸 Playing in the USA: "Meeting American veterans, sharing our experiences, and learning from each other will be an invaluable opportunity."
✅ Golf training – Physical and mental rehabilitation through sports
✅ English language course – Improve communication with U.S. veterans
✅ Mental health support – Learn resilience strategies from American professionals
✅ Veteran networking – Exchange experiences with U.S. combat veterans
🛡️ Countering Russian Propaganda:
"It’s important to show the world that we are strong, rational people—not extremists, as Russian propaganda claims."
💬 Building Global Veteran Networks:
"Meeting veterans from another continent allows us to exchange experiences and create future projects together."
⚔️ Empowering Veterans:
"These programs help us realize that we are capable of much more than we ever expected."
