My Story

On March 22, 2022, I attended a protest in the city of Kherson and was detained by FSB officers. I endured 2 days of interrogation in a local torture facility and 30 days in a pre-trial detention center (SIZO). I was released on April 22, 2022. The conditions of my detention were extremely harsh: no food for up to 3 days, no drinking water, no access to hygiene products, and no communication with the outside world. No one knew where I was or that I had even been detained. The interrogations were quite brutal, involving psychological and physical pressure through various methods. Not everyone in our SIZO survived the abuse. I want to emphasize that I was only 17 years old during these events.

📢 "My first trip to America was life-changing. It felt like stepping into the movies I watched as a child. Meeting American veterans, feeling the respect of people on the streets, and realizing I could do more—it changed my perspective."

🇺🇸 What shocked me the most?

"The incredible cultural diversity and how people of all backgrounds showed gratitude for our service."

⚡ How my life changed after the trip:

✔ Got a sports prosthetic, making me more active

✔ Found a job in civilian life, helping train others in first aid

Completed a 5K marathon with my prosthetic leg
